The Tip

Remember to… Lead with respect before you redirect. Show respect for others’ experiences and insights by listening before jumping in with solutions. Starting with curiosity will build trust, enabling you to lead without ego and gain valuable perspectives from your team. For example, ask “What’s been working for you?” or “What would you do differently in my shoes?” to foster engagement.

Bonus Tip:
Focus on preparation, not overcompensating. When you come prepared, you show that you are serious about leading, regardless of your age. Instead of trying to prove your worth, focus on owning your ideas and letting your work speak for itself.
