Did you know... A first-warning conversation is a turning point—it can either inspire growth or breed resentment. Employees who feel respected during feedback are 3.5x more likely to improve performance (Zenger & Folkman). Leaders shape the future, not just react to behavior.

Remember to…

  1. Private feedback: Avoid public embarrassment; focus on the fix, not the defense.

  2. Facts over feelings: Remove emotional language; be clear and measurable. Always remember the S-B-I Model (Situation-Behavior-Impact)

  3. Build the path forward together: Co-create solutions, ask questions, provide support.
